FIGKOTT (GR)
I went to Romantso in June 2018 after the Gay Parade in Athens. After losing my friends, I decided to stay and dance on the main stage listening to Devika. Heavy techno but perfect for the wee hours of the already very hot morning. Met a guy and went home when I didn't know him, super cute of course but very young, almost 20 or 21, don’t remember! OUPS
These parties calls “Qreclaim” and he is initiator is Giorgis Benias aka Figkott who has a strong presence of the new generattion of the Athenian house & techno scene, as well as an important part of the greek queer clubbing community for the past few years, by being a promoter and a dj.
For the next From Athens to Brussels with love the 31.10.22 at Recyclart, I decide to invite him to play because I love his energy, his caractere very friendly, kind and I am very grateful to him for the help he gave me for the organization of my first event in Romantso back in December 2021.
Qreclaim is the biggest queer rave of Athens, attracts each time a unique strong crowd of 1.000+ people, and has been a cultural milestone in capital’s nightlife for the past 3 years, by pushing the boundaries of the party culture and by embracing sex positivity.
Figkott’s music taste is fluid and his sets are creative, vibrant and coherently traversing several genres.
Figkott has recently performed for Bushwig Festival at Knockdown Center and The Carry Nation party at Good Room (New York), Buttons at :about blank (Berlin), Slut Rave Pride Edition at Bronx Sauna (Stockholm), Gucci Zumi’s Event (Munich), Whole Festival 2022, Boiler Room and for the first time in Brussels in Recyclart the 31.10.22 for “From Athens to Brussels with love”.
